What causes low liver enzymes?

My mother's recent blood test showed low liver enzymes, which her doctor said is unusual. We've always heard about high enzymes, so this is new for us. What could cause liver enzymes to be low?

Low liver enzymes are less common to discuss but can also indicate an issue. Sometimes it's due to nutritional deficiencies or even certain medications. Don't waste time on self-diagnosis. Get it checked by a specialist, they'll advise specific tests. Efficiency is key here.

Dekho, usually log high enzymes ki baat karte hain, but low bhi achha nahi hai. It could be some underlying issue, maybe nutritional. Don't sit on it. Go to the doctor, get your tests done. Better safe than sorry, the liver is important, bhai.

My doctor once explained that while elevated liver enzymes are more common indicators of liver damage, unusually low levels, especially of ALP, can also be a point of concern. He mentioned possibilities like malnutrition, certain chronic illnesses, or deficiencies in vital minerals like zinc. He stressed on a comprehensive blood panel and a thorough clinical evaluation to pinpoint the exact cause, as it's not always simple.

Honestly, I used to ignore anything that wasn't 'normal' but also not a 'crisis'. Please don't make my mistake. Low enzymes might seem minor, but it's still outside the normal range. Get it properly investigated by a doctor. It's always better to catch things early, you know?

Yes, definitely consult a doctor for this. Liver enzymes being low also needs attention to understand the root cause. Don't delay.
