What causes low grade fever in adults?

I've been feeling generally unwell for a week now, with a temperature that's always slightly elevated but never really high. It's quite frustrating and making me tired. What typically causes a low-grade fever in adults like me?

Oh, low grade fever? For me, it's probably my body's way of telling me I need more sleep. Or maybe it's just protesting the sheer amount of coffee I consume to stay awake. Honestly, I think my body is constantly running on fumes and just gives up sometimes.

Beta, sometimes when our body is fighting a small cold or if we are very tired, then this low fever comes. It's like the body is saying, 'thoda aaram kar lo'. Drink warm water, make some haldi doodh, and rest. If it doesn't go, then dikhao doctor ko.

For me, even small changes in my thyroid levels can sometimes manifest as a general feeling of being unwell, including a low-grade fever. It's always a good idea to get your routine blood tests done, especially if it's recurring. Don't self-diagnose, just keep in touch with your doctor.

Could be anything from your body fighting off a tiny invisible ninja attack, to just being really stressed out from adulting. Sometimes my body just likes to remind me it's working hard, even if it's just against a mild sniffle. Don't panic, but keep an eye on it!

Low-grade fevers in adults are often due to minor infections, like a viral cold or something inflammatory. Stress and fatigue are big contributors too. If it persists for more than a couple of days or you have other symptoms, you should definitely consult a GP. Don't ignore it.

My doctor once explained that low-grade fevers can be a sign of the immune system working. It could be due to a lingering viral infection, chronic inflammation, or even certain autoimmune conditions. He always advises to monitor it for a few days, watch for other symptoms, and if it doesn't resolve or worsens, then get a proper check-up.
