What causes jaw pain on one side?

I've had this persistent jaw pain only on one side for about a week now, and it's quite bothersome. Sometimes it even radiates towards my ear. What could be the reasons for jaw pain specifically on one side?

Please don't take jaw pain lightly. I had it on one side and ignored it, thinking it was just stress. It turned out to be a really bad tooth infection that spread. It's so important to see a dentist or doctor quickly to prevent complications. Early check-up is key.

My grandmother would always say 'eat soft food when your jaw hurts, beti'. And she was right, it helps a bit. But for one-sided pain, best to show a good dentist. Could be simple, but doctor knows best always, no?

Oh, I totally get it, one-sided pain can be quite annoying and make you wonder. It could be anything from a dental problem, like a wisdom tooth causing trouble, to issues with your jaw joint (TMJ). Stress often plays a big role too. Hope you find some relief soon!

Jaw pain on one side? Are you sure you're not just chewing too much hard chikki or crunchy snacks on that side? Happens to the best of us foodies! But seriously, if it's persistent, maybe lay off the extra chewy stuff for a bit and see a doc.

Have you tried tracking if it's worse after certain activities or at specific times? Sometimes stress tracking on my app helps me see patterns. For jaw pain, often it's linked to posture or even sleep habits. Check if any app helps you identify triggers, then maybe consult a doctor.

Hi there. Unilateral jaw pain can be due to various reasons like TMJ dysfunction, dental problems (cavities, impacted wisdom teeth), muscle strain from clenching, or even ear infections. Observing when it occurs and what alleviates it can give clues. A consultation with a dentist or ENT is advisable.

I just recovered from this! My one-sided jaw pain was actually from clenching my teeth at night due to stress. My dentist suggested a mouthguard and some jaw exercises, and it helped so much. Also, trying to relax my face muscles consciously made a big difference.

One-sided jaw pain is most commonly related to TMJ disorder or a specific dental issue on that side. It could be clenching, grinding, or even a misaligned bite. See a good dentist first, they're usually the best bet for diagnosis.

If it's just on one side, definitely consider dental issues first – maybe a sensitive tooth or even gums. Then think about how you sleep, or if you're stressed and clenching. Warm packs and paracetamol might offer temporary relief, but a check-up is key for diagnosis.

I sometimes get this too, especially when I'm stressed. It's usually on my right side. Does anyone else feel like it's worse when they've been working on the computer all day? I always worry it's something serious, but then it usually goes away.

Feeling anxious about a new pain is completely normal, especially when it's in your jaw. I've been there! It's usually something straightforward like teeth grinding or TMJ, but the uncertainty can be tough. Take a deep breath and then make that doctor's appointment to get some peace of mind.
