What causes high liver function tests?

My annual health check-up results came back, and the liver function tests are higher than normal. The doctor wants me to come in for more tests. Before I go, I want to understand what generally leads to high liver function tests.

Oh no, high LFTs can be a worry! 😟 But don't panic. Common culprits are things like fatty liver (thanks, pizza! 🍕), too much alcohol, or even some medications. Viral infections like hepatitis are also possibilities. Best to show your reports to a doctor, they'll help you decode it all! 😊

High LFTs often indicate liver stress. From a fitness perspective, this can sometimes be due to intense workouts, supplements, or more commonly, a high-fat, sugary diet leading to fatty liver. Alcohol is also a big one. Prioritize clean eating, stay active, but most importantly, consult a doctor to understand the root cause.

My health app sometimes flags abnormal patterns if my body is under stress. High LFTs could be due to many things like fatty liver, medication side effects, or viral infections. Track your diet and alcohol intake on an app, it might give you clues to discuss with your doctor. But yeah, doctor visit is non-negotiable here.

As someone managing thyroid, I know the importance of regular blood tests and doctor follow-ups. High LFTs can be caused by various things, like fatty liver, medications, or infections. Sometimes even thyroid dysfunction can subtly affect other organs. Don't just sit on the report, take it to your doctor and understand what's happening.

The liver is a vital organ, dear one. High LFTs suggest it needs some extra care. Stress and an unhealthy lifestyle deeply impact it. Gentle yoga, mindful breathing (pranayama), and a sattvic diet can support liver health. However, for elevated readings, please consult a medical doctor. They can assess the physical cause.

High LFTs definitely need attention. As a working professional, I know time is tight, but book that doctor's appointment ASAP. It could be due to stress, a fatty liver from late-night eating, medications, or viral infections. Get a proper diagnosis; don't Google yourself into a panic. Prioritize this.

Hi there! High LFTs (Liver Function Tests) can definitely be concerning. The most common reasons are fatty liver (very common these days!), alcohol consumption, certain medications, or viral hepatitis. It's really important not to self-diagnose. Take your reports to a good gastroenterologist; they'll help you understand the exact cause and the best way forward.

High LFTs often indicate stress on the liver, and diet plays a massive role. Excessive processed foods, unhealthy fats, and even some sugary drinks can contribute to fatty liver, which elevates enzymes. A plant-based diet, rich in antioxidants and fiber, can be very supportive, but first, get a doctor's diagnosis to rule out anything serious like hepatitis.

For general liver health, eating fresh foods, avoiding processed items, and drinking plenty of water can help. Some people find turmeric beneficial too. But if your liver function tests are high, this is beyond home tips. It points to a serious issue. You absolutely must see a doctor to understand the cause and get proper treatment.

This is making me so worried just reading about it! High LFTs sound really bad. Is it always a very serious condition, or can it be something temporary? Has anyone else here had high LFTs and it turned out to be okay? I always panic about these things.

What exactly does 'high liver function tests' mean? Is it like, the liver is working too hard, or is it damaged? This sounds a bit scary. I hope it's not always something very bad. What kind of doctor should one see for this?
