What causes heel pain?

Lately, I've been having a sharp pain in my heel, especially when I wake up in the morning and take my first steps. It gets a little better after walking for some time, but it's quite bothersome. What could be causing this heel pain?

Please don't take heel pain lightly. I ignored mine for months, thinking it was just tired feet. Turns out, it was severe plantar fasciitis, and it led to chronic pain that took a lot of physiotherapy to fix. See a doctor or a podiatrist quickly to avoid complications.

Heel pain can have multiple causes, from mechanical issues like plantar fasciitis or Achilles tendinitis, to stress fractures, or even nerve entrapment. If you visit a good hospital, make sure to describe your pain accurately – when it hurts, what makes it worse, etc. Ask your doctor clearly about the diagnosis and the treatment plan, don't leave until you understand.

I've been looking into this for my mom! Heel pain is super common, and often it's plantar fasciitis, which is inflammation of the tissue connecting your heel bone to your toes. Also, bad shoes, standing too much, or even being overweight can cause it. Sometimes a bone spur too.

Heel pain is a very common complaint, and often it's due to plantar fasciitis. This is when the band of tissue under your foot gets inflamed, especially common in people who stand a lot, runners, or those with flat feet. Wearing supportive shoes, gentle stretches, and rest can help. But if it persists, see an orthopedic doctor.

I had heel pain for a while, and for me, it was just from wearing really old, worn-out sports shoes. Once I got new ones with proper arch support, it got much better. It could be many things, but sometimes it's just something simple like that. Still, if it's severe, better to get it checked by a professional.

Oh, heel pain is the worst! My aunt gets it a lot. She says it's usually from standing too much in uncomfortable shoes or sometimes a calcium deficiency. Definitely try resting and gentle stretching, and check your footwear. If it's really bad, go to a doctor, they can give proper advice.
