What causes fast weight gain?

I've gained a lot of weight very quickly in the last two months, almost 5-6 kgs, without changing my diet much. My clothes are feeling tight and I'm feeling very sluggish. What causes such fast weight gain?

Ugh, fast weight gain, the bane of every foodie's existence! Sometimes it's just a holiday season gone wild, or those irresistible midnight cravings for pakoras and sweets. But seriously, it can also be water retention from salty food or hormonal shifts. So many delicious culprits! If it's too fast, best to check with a doc though, sometimes it's more than just good food.

For me, I noticed really fast weight gain when I switched jobs and my stress levels went through the roof, and I started eating out a lot more. Also, sleep deprivation was a huge factor. So from my experience, stress, poor diet, and lack of sleep can definitely pack on the kilos quickly. Everyone's body is different, though.

I was looking this up recently for a friend! Rapid weight gain can be from so many things. General overeating and lack of activity, of course, but also things like fluid retention, hormonal imbalances (like thyroid issues or PCOS), certain medications, and sometimes even underlying medical conditions. It's a complex topic.

Bro, for me, it was when I stopped playing sports and just started chilling at home all the time, eating whatever. The weight came on super fast. Also, when I was on some medication for allergies, I felt like I puffed up really quickly. So, diet, no exercise, and sometimes meds can really do it. If it's sudden for no reason, maybe see a doctor.

Fast weight gain is something one needs to be careful about, especially if you have existing conditions like high BP. For me, diet changes like excess salt and not keeping active can quickly add weight, which then impacts BP. Hormonal changes or certain medications also contribute. Regular checkups are important to monitor these changes and understand the cause.

My son suddenly gained weight very fast after he started some new medication for his allergy. It was really concerning. We went to the pediatrician, and they said it was a side effect of the medicine. So sometimes it's medications, other times it can be hormonal issues or even just a drastic change in diet and activity. It's best to consult a doctor to figure out the exact reason, especially if it's unexplained.

Fast weight gain can often be traced back to diet. Eating too many processed foods, high-sugar items, and large portions, even of vegetarian food, can lead to quick changes. Also, not getting enough fiber or drinking enough water. Certain medical conditions and medications can cause it too, so it's always good to consult a doctor if it's sudden and unexplained.
