What causes excessive burping and chest pain?

For the past few weeks, I've been burping a lot, like really excessively, and sometimes I feel a dull pain in my chest. It's quite uncomfortable, especially after meals. What could be causing both these things together?

I agree with the focus on acidity here. Sometimes severe acid reflux can mimic heart pain, but you should never assume it's just gas.

My son had this exact problem last year due to late-night junk food. It turned out to be severe gastritis, but we immediately took him to the clinic to rule out anything serious. Please get a proper doctor's opinion to be safe.

This could be GERD or a hiatal hernia, where stomach acid flows back up. But as a general rule, any chest pain must be evaluated with an ECG first to rule out cardiac issues before treating it as simple gas.

Ah, the classic Indian 'gas chadh gayi' situation! Most of the time it is just yesterday's chole bhature creating drama in your chest. But seriously, if the pain is radiating or very sharp, skip the Eno and visit a clinic.

Sitting in one place all day slows down digestion, leading to trapped gas and chest tightness. A gentle 15-minute walk after meals helps me clear the gas naturally, but make sure your doctor has cleared you for light exercise first.

It can be really scary to feel pain in the chest. I hope you feel better soon, please take rest and consult a doctor if the pain doesn't go away.

I get this whenever I eat too fast or skip my meals during busy workdays. The trapped air causes painful pressure in the chest area, which goes away after a few burps. Try eating smaller, slower meals and see if it helps.

Don't ignore chest pain thinking it is just burping or gas. Get an ECG and consult a cardiologist immediately to rule out any blockages, then you can worry about your diet.

Beta, sometimes warm water with a little roasted jeera or ajwain can soothe the stomach if it is simple indigestion. But if the chest pain is very heavy or spreads to your arm, do not wait at home, go to a doctor immediately.

Bro, honestly, hostel food gives me this all the time. It is usually just extreme acidity because of all the oily spices. I just drink a lot of cold milk or water and it settles down.

My fitness tracker showed my heart rate was normal when I had this, which helped me realize it was just severe bloating. Drinking carbonated drinks or having a food intolerance can cause sudden gas buildup and chest pressure.

As a diabetic, I have to be very careful because we can sometimes have silent heart issues that feel like simple gas. If you have fluctuating sugars and get chest pain with burping, please check your heart health first.
