What causes cyclic vomiting?

My nephew keeps having these episodes where he vomits a lot for a few days, then he's fine for weeks, and then it starts again. The doctor mentioned 'cyclic vomiting.' What causes this kind of pattern?

Actually, it is a proper medical condition and can be so frustrating yaar. It usually starts suddenly at the same time of the day and repeats in cycles. You should definitely get a doctor to check if it is cyclic vomiting syndrome.

Please be very careful with this. I had a severe flare-up that led to critical dehydration and electrolyte imbalance because I delayed going to the hospital. Please see a gastroenterologist immediately to get it diagnosed.

I used to panic completely when these vomiting episodes would happen every few weeks. Once the doctor explained it was cyclic vomiting syndrome triggered by stress and sleep deprivation, we managed it with lifestyle changes and medication. Don't worry, it is manageable.

My health tracker showed a direct link between my peak stress levels, poor sleep, and these cyclic nausea episodes. Tracking your triggers like specific foods or emotional stress can help your doctor plan your treatment much better.
