What causes cotton fever?

A friend of mine mentioned something called 'cotton fever' after he got sick recently. I had never heard of it before and it sounded a bit strange. Can someone explain what causes cotton fever?

Cotton fever is a serious condition caused by endotoxins released by bacteria often associated with injection drug use. This requires urgent medical evaluation at a hospital to rule out more severe infections like endocarditis. Please get checked immediately.

Oh, this is usually a reaction to bacterial endotoxins from materials used during injections! 🩺 Please stay hydrated, monitor your temperature, and definitely consult a doctor right away to stay safe!

I went through this recently and the sudden shivering, intense headache, and high fever were absolutely brutal. It started within an hour of an injection, and while it often goes away in a day, you really need a doctor to make sure there is no deep bacterial infection.

Just reading about a sudden, intense fever like this makes me so anxious! Please don't try to manage this at home with simple paracetamol, as it could lead to severe blood complications if left untreated. Go to a hospital clinic right away.

I am not an expert on this, but I know it is a rapid-onset fever caused by bacterial contamination during intravenous use. Because it can mimic other dangerous bloodstream infections, getting a professional medical opinion is the safest path.

Haan, yeh toh inject karte waqt bacteria ke chale jaane se hota hai, isse bohot tez thand aur bukhar aata hai. Bilkul bura lagta hai, par isko normal bukhar mat samjho aur seedha doctor ke paas jao na.
