What causes colon cancer in young people?

My cousin, who is just 25, got diagnosed with colon cancer recently. It was a big shock for all of us. I always thought this disease mostly affects older people, so what could be the reasons for it appearing in someone so young?

Honestly, our terrible eating habits are a huge reason. I used to survive on instant noodles, energy drinks, and late-night junk food, but a major stomach infection forced me to clean up my diet. We really need to start taking gut health seriously even in our 20s.

While genetic factors can cause this in youngsters, getting checked early is important. Look for government hospitals or diagnostic centers with packages, as private hospital tests can be quite expensive, and plan your health insurance accordingly.

Having high blood sugar makes me very cautious about my digestion. Studies show that diets loaded with high sugar, preservatives, and minimal fiber can cause chronic inflammation in the gut, which is a big risk factor for young adults.

Hey, don't get too anxious reading articles online. While colon cancer cases in younger people are rising, it is often linked to rare genetic conditions or extreme lifestyle issues. Just stay active, eat home-cooked food, and get checked if something feels off.

In our youth, we ate fresh local produce and walked everywhere, which kept our digestive systems strong. Today's fast-paced life and processed food are definitely taking a toll on the younger generation, so please focus on a simpler lifestyle.

Dealing with hypertension has taught me that chronic stress and poor sleep affect our entire body, including our digestive tract. Regular checkups and keeping an eye on your body's signals are vital, no matter how young you are.
