What causes calcaneal pain?

I'm experiencing quite a sharp pain in my heel, especially when I get out of bed in the morning. It makes walking difficult for the first few minutes. My doctor mentioned calcaneal pain but didn't elaborate much.

I went to a specialist hospital for my heel pain, and they diagnosed it as a calcaneal spur after a quick X-ray. It is always best to visit a proper orthopedic department where doctors can explain the exact cause clearly. Don't rely on random guesses; get a professional opinion.

Since managing PCOS can sometimes cause joint inflammation or weight fluctuations, I faced heel pain when I suddenly increased my walking. I was told it was plantar fasciitis, but I am no expert, so please check with an orthopedist to see what is causing your specific calcaneal discomfort.

My orthopedist explained that calcaneal pain often happens due to repetitive strain on the plantar fascia ligament attached to the heel bone. He advised against walking barefoot on hard floors and suggested silicon heel cups for my shoes. It is highly recommended to get a proper clinical evaluation.

Calcaneal pain, or heel pain, is most commonly caused by plantar fasciitis, a calcaneal spur, or Achilles tendonitis. Wearing supportive footwear with good cushioning and doing calf stretches can bring immense relief. Do consult an orthopedist if the pain does not subside with rest.

I know how miserable it is to wake up and dread taking that very first step out of bed because of the sharp heel pain. It really takes a toll on your daily life and mood when you can't even walk comfortably. Please know your pain is real, and seeking timely medical help will make a huge difference.
