What causes burning pain in feet?

My feet have been burning like anything, especially at night when I'm trying to sleep. It's been going on for a few weeks now and sometimes it feels like pins and needles. I'm diabetic, so I'm worried if it's related to that or something else.

I have been feeling this hot, burning sensation in my soles every night, and it is making me so nervous. Does anyone else feel like their feet are on fire when they lie down? Should I be worried about nerve damage or is it just tiredness?

I used to suffer from terrible burning soles every night during the summer months. For me, it turned out to be related to my high blood sugar levels, and managing my diet helped resolve the issue. Getting a regular sugar test was key for my recovery.

My doctor explained that burning pain in the feet is frequently caused by peripheral neuropathy, which can stem from diabetes, B12 deficiency, or thyroid issues. He ran an HbA1c test and a nerve conduction study to find the exact cause. I highly recommend getting a proper clinical checkup.

Soaking your feet in lukewarm water with some rock salt can help soothe the burning after a long day of walking. However, persistent burning can be a sign of high sugar or poor circulation, so please visit a doctor. Do not neglect your feet health at this stage.

My feet start burning and throbbing the moment I pull an all-nighter for work. Honestly, standing all day combined with zero sleep is a terrible recipe for your nerves. Try putting your feet up on a pillow and getting a decent night's sleep before you panic.

For pure vegetarians, burning feet is very often a direct symptom of severe Vitamin B12 deficiency. I had this issue and my doctor recommended B12 supplements and incorporating fermented foods and milk products into my diet. Please get your vitamin levels checked first.
