What causes breast tenderness and pain?

Hi, I'm a bit concerned because for the past few months, I've been feeling this tenderness and pain in my breasts, especially before my periods. My friend said it's normal, but sometimes it gets really uncomfortable. Could there be other reasons for this?

My daughter had severe breast tenderness and was terrified, but her doctor explained it was just fibrocystic changes common in young women. Wearing a highly supportive cotton sports bra and avoiding caffeine during her periods helped her a lot. Definitely get a doctor's opinion to ease her mind.

Breast tenderness is usually caused by normal hormonal shifts, but any new or localized pain must be evaluated. It is safest to visit a gynecologist to rule out cysts or other issues. Please don't ignore it if you feel any hard lumps or skin changes.

I literally spend hours Googling whenever my breasts feel sore, and it makes my anxiety go through the roof. Most of the time it is just hormonal changes or a tight bra, but to stop the overthinking, it is best to just book a quick doctor consult. Sending you good vibes!

I just dealt with painful breast swelling last month and was super stressed. My gynecologist found it was due to minor hormonal imbalance and prescribed a simple evening primrose oil capsule which made the pain vanish in a week. Highly recommend speaking to your doctor.

Hey, don't stress too much! Almost all of us go through this painful breast tenderness due to hormonal fluctuations or just stress. Try cutting down on coffee for a few days and wear a comfortable, non-wired bra. If it still hurts after your periods, just go see a gynecologist.

Honestly, I get this crazy tenderness literally every single month right before my periods start. It is so bad that even wearing a seatbelt hurts. I usually just use a warm water bag and wear my comfiest oversized t-shirts till it passes.

I noticed my breast tenderness was worse when I had high water retention, which was also impacting my blood pressure. Limiting salt in my diet and keeping up with regular doctor visits helped me manage both issues effectively. Do get your routine checks done.

Cyclical breast tenderness is very common and usually caused by estrogen and progesterone levels changing during your menstrual cycle. It can also happen due to certain medications or stress. If the pain is only in one spot or you feel a lump, please get a professional breast exam.
