What causes bile duct cancer?

My uncle was just diagnosed with bile duct cancer. It sounds very serious, and we're all very concerned. Could someone explain what usually causes this kind of cancer?

My close friend went through this diagnostic journey a few years ago. It is often linked to chronic inflammation of the bile ducts, like primary sclerosing cholangitis. Medical science has advanced a lot, so please consult a specialist and have patience.

I was just reading up on this because of a college project. Apparently, chronic biliary tract diseases, certain genetic conditions, and age are primary factors. It is quite rare, but definitely something that needs a proper medical doctor to diagnose.

This is a highly serious oncological condition. Do not try any home remedies or trusts 'herbal' cures online. It is caused by cellular mutations in the bile ducts, and only medical specialists can guide you on the correct treatment.

Please do not ignore symptoms like jaundice, dark urine, or itchy skin. We delayed getting my uncle checked thinking it was normal jaundice, and the complications made treatment very difficult later. See a gastroenterologist immediately.

Look, bile duct cancer (cholangiocarcinoma) is relatively rare. It is usually caused by chronic inflammation, bile duct cysts, or liver diseases. Skip the panic, go to a major hospital, and get an MRI or biopsy done as advised by a specialist.
