What causes big toe pain?

Been having a sharp pain in my big toe, especially when I walk. It's not an injury, so I'm wondering what could be causing this kind of persistent pain.

Haan na, big toe pain is so annoying, walking also becomes difficult. Actually, sometimes tight footwear wearing causes this, or high uric acid. Thoda warm water soak try karo and see if it helps.

For mild aches, soaking your feet in warm water with rock salt is a time-tested remedy that relieves tiredness. However, if the big toe is inflamed and hurts severely without any injury, it is wise to consult a physician to rule out arthritis.

Oh dear, is the joint also red and swollen? I always panic thinking it could be gout or a hairline fracture. Please take care and don't walk on it too much. It might be best to consult a doctor just to be completely safe.

If you have been enjoying too much red meat, paneer, or heavy protein-rich meals lately, it might have triggered high uric acid. That extra protein can sometimes settle in your big toe as painful crystals! Better cut back and check with a doc.

Basically, it is usually either a shoe-bite, an ingrown toenail, or uric acid buildup (gout). Try wearing comfortable open footwear for a few days. If the pain doesn't subside, get a simple blood test done for uric acid.

I track my running form on my fitness app and realized my toe pain was due to poor gait and tight running shoes. However, if the pain is sudden and severe, it could be gout. Track your food intake and check with a doctor.

My grandmother used to suggest applying turmeric paste for minor joint pain, which can help soothe it. But if the big toe pain is very severe and hot to touch, it could be gout. Please visit a doctor for proper diagnosis.

Instead of going for expensive scans right away, first get a basic uric acid blood test which costs around 150-200 rupees. Gout is a very common cause of big toe pain and can be managed easily with simple diet changes and cheap medicines.

Bro, I got terrible big toe pain last week just because I stubbed it against my hostel bed in the dark! Honestly, if you didn't hit it anywhere, maybe check if your sneakers are too tight.
