What causes belly button pain?

Since yesterday, I've had this sharp pain around my belly button. It's not constant, but it comes and goes. I haven't eaten anything unusual. What could be causing this belly button pain?

As a diabetic, I have to be very careful with infections. Belly button pain can sometimes be due to a bacterial or yeast infection in the fold, especially if hygiene is neglected or sugar levels are high. Please get your blood sugar checked and consult a doctor.

I agree with others, it could be a simple infection or hernia. It is best to get it evaluated by a general surgeon or physician to be absolutely sure.

Belly button pain can stem from various causes ranging from a mild skin infection to internal issues like an umbilical hernia or even early appendicitis. Because the causes vary so widely, consulting a medical professional is the safest and most logical step.

Don't spend hours searching symptoms online and panicking. Belly button pain needs a quick physical exam by a doctor because it can be an infection or muscle strain. Book a quick clinic appointment and get it sorted out.

Haan, belly button pain can be quite uncomfortable, na. Sometimes it is just a simple dirt buildup causing mild infection, but if it is sharp pain, don't ignore it. Doctor ke paas jana hi safe option hai.

In our families, we sometimes apply a drop of warm coconut oil if it is simple dryness, but belly button pain should not be ignored. It is best to visit a doctor because it could be an infection or something internal requiring proper treatment.

Sometimes heavy lifting or core exercises done with wrong form can strain the abdominal wall near the navel, causing pain. If you have been working out hard, that might be it, but rule out hernia with a doctor first.

Look, if the pain is sharp or you see any swelling or discharge from the navel, stop asking online. Go straight to a general physician. It is better to get a quick checkup than to sit and worry.
