What causes arthritis flare-ups in knees?

My knees have been hurting a lot more frequently these days, especially when it's cold. The doctor said it's arthritis, but sometimes the pain becomes really intense for a few days. What causes arthritis flare-ups in the knees?

Eating high-sugar foods or sudden weight gain can put instant stress on your knees and trigger a painful flare-up. Keep your blood sugar in check and stick to a low-inflammatory diet.

Look, if you run or climb too many stairs suddenly without proper support, your knees will obviously flare up. Rest the joint completely and don't try to push through the pain.

I have tried everything from Epsom salt baths to ginger tea for my knee inflammation. While they give decent temporary comfort, regular physician-prescribed physiotherapy is what actually helps long-term.

My family always suggests applying warm sesame oil during a knee flare-up, which does ease the stiffness. But always consult your orthopedic doctor if the swelling doesn't go down in a day.

Be very careful with sudden knee swelling, as it could indicate a fluid buildup or infection in the joint. I delayed treatment once and had to get the joint fluid drained surgically, so see a specialist.

I know how terrifying it feels when your knee suddenly swells up and you can't walk. It's completely normal to feel anxious, but remember that rest and anti-inflammatories usually calm it down quickly.

My knees love predicting the monsoon season better than the weather department! Cold weather and heavy rain always trigger my knee pain, but a warm heating pad usually saves the day.

I ignored my knee flare-ups thinking it was just fatigue, and ended up with severe cartilage damage that required surgery. Please go to a doctor and get an MRI before it gets worse.

Bro, my knee flares up every time I do heavy squats without knee sleeves. If you lift or do high-impact sports, take a break and let the joint heal first.
