What causes a stroke at a young age?

My college friend, who is only 24, recently had a stroke. We were all shocked because he's so young and healthy. What are the common causes of a stroke in young people like him?

I can only speak from what happened to my close friend who had a stroke at 28. In his case, it was a combination of severe sleep deprivation, high stress, and an undiagnosed patent foramen ovale (a tiny hole in the heart) that caused a blood clot.

Hearing about a young person getting a stroke is so deeply shocking and unfair, it completely shakes your sense of safety. I went through a phase of constant panic when a family member faced this. It is hard, but please take a deep breath and support them emotionally.

A major cause is neglecting high blood pressure, thinking 'I am too young to get BP'. I did the same and paid the price. Please get routine checkups and don't ignore even slightly high readings, thinking it is just work stress.

Uncontrolled blood sugar levels at a young age can damage blood vessels over time, leading to early strokes. It is so important to stop eating junk, cut down on sweet beverages, and monitor your HbA1c levels regularly to prevent such vascular damage.

My nephew had a stroke at 24, and the doctors found he had an inherited blood clotting disorder. We were so scared, but with proper blood thinners and a regular home-cooked diet, he has recovered beautifully. Please get a complete hematology workup done.

I was researching this because of a news article, and it seems autoimmune diseases, congenital heart issues, and high stress are big factors for young people. It's really eye-opening how we can't take youth for granted anymore.

Our modern life has become too fast, and the body cannot bear this constant pressure. Stay positive, eat natural foods, and practice calm breathing to protect your nervous system. Take care of your health, it is the greatest wealth.

Look, stroke in youth is rising due to extreme desk-bound lifestyles, smoking, high lipids, and genetic clotting issues. Don't ignore symptoms like sudden numbness or slurred speech. Get a proper brain MRI and consult a top neurologist immediately.

In our days, strokes were for old grandparents, but now young kids are getting them just by sitting in front of computers all day! All that screen stress and ordering pizza at midnight is catching up fast. We need to push our youngsters to play outside!

Drinking warm lemon water and eating garlic can keep blood vessels clean, but a stroke is a major emergency. If a young person is showing any weakness on one side, please do not waste time on home remedies. Go to the hospital immediately.
