What causes a ischemic stroke?

My friend's father had an 'ischemic stroke' recently, and it made me curious about strokes in general. What are the common causes of an ischemic stroke? Is it always related to high blood pressure?

Don't believe anyone who says drinking green tea or doing some headstand will clear brain artery blocks. Ischemic stroke is caused by a blood clot blocking blood flow to the brain, which is a critical medical condition. If you suspect any symptoms, rush to a neurologist immediately rather than trying online tips.

With only 4 hours of sleep and a diet mostly made of instant noodles, my blood vessels are probably screaming. But seriously, plaque buildup and clots block brain blood flow, causing ischemic stroke. I guess this is my wakeup call to close my laptop, sleep, and eat something that didn't come from a packet.

I literally spend hours reading about how cholesterol clots can travel to the brain and cause an ischemic stroke, and it terrifies me. If you are worried, please get a carotid doppler test done to check your neck blood flow. It really helps calm the mind to know what is actually going on inside.

It is basically when a tiny blood clot decides to take a wrong turn and block the highway to your brain. To avoid this highway jam, we just need to keep our cholesterol and BP in check. Keep moving, drink water, and don't let your arteries get clogged like weekend traffic!

In our old days, we kept blood thin and healthy by eating fresh garlic and doing daily morning walks. Ischemic stroke happens when the blood becomes too thick or arteries get narrow due to bad habits. Eat simple home-cooked meals, but remember to take your doctor's BP medicines regularly without fail.

As a diabetic, I know that high blood sugar damages blood vessels over time, making it much easier for clots to form and cause an ischemic stroke. I have to be very strict with my carb intake, daily walks, and regular HbA1c tests. Keeping your blood sugar in range is vital to protect your brain.

My uncle suffered from this last year; a clot had blocked the blood supply to his brain. My grandmother suggested herbal drinks, but we immediately took him to the hospital for proper clot-busting treatment. It is always best to trust modern doctors and keep diabetes and high BP under tight control.
