What can mimic kidney stone pain?

A friend of mine had kidney stones and he described the pain as really bad. My brother has been having some severe back and side pain lately, and we're wondering if it could be that. What else causes pain similar to kidney stones?

Kidney stone pain is very severe, and many things can feel similar but be completely different. Things like a severe urinary tract infection (UTI), appendicitis (especially if on the right side), ovarian cysts in women, or even a muscle strain can mimic it. Please, if you're having such pain, get it checked by a doctor immediately to be safe.

Haan, kidney stone ka pain bahut bura hota hai na. But mere friend ko laga use stone hai, actually woh severe muscle spasm tha back mein. Kabhi kabhi UTI bhi waisa dard de sakta hai, ya fir appendicitis ka pain bhi similar lag sakta hai. Best hai doctor ko dikhao, guess work mat karo.

Been there, done that! Once I thought I had a stone, but it was a pulled back muscle from a heavy lift. Also, sometimes severe dehydration coupled with intense workouts can cause flank pain that feels similar. Proper hydration and warm-up are key, but if the pain is intense, see a doc. Don't push through that kind of pain.

It's so difficult when you have severe pain and don't know the cause. For women, especially with conditions like PCOS, ovarian cysts or other gynecological issues can cause pain that might feel similar to kidney stones. Also, a very bad UTI can. Always be cautious and get a medical opinion to ensure proper diagnosis.

Dude, a friend of mine thought he had kidney stones, turns out it was just a super bad back spasm from playing football. Also heard UTIs can cause intense flank pain. So yeah, don't just assume, get it checked by a doctor, that kind of pain is no joke.

From my experience with chronic conditions, any severe pain needs careful evaluation. Kidney stone pain can be mimicked by things like severe UTIs, muscle strains in the back, or even certain reproductive issues for women. It's not worth delaying; get proper tests done and follow up with a doctor for an accurate diagnosis.
