What can friends provide to affect mental health positively?

Lately, I've been feeling quite low and just out of it. My friends try to cheer me up, but I'm wondering what specific things they can do or say to really help improve my mental health, you know? Just looking for some practical tips.

Honestly, the best thing a friend can do is get you out of the house for a brisk walk or some outdoor activity. Just walking together in a park for 30 minutes and talking can drastically lower stress hormones and improve your mood instantly.

Actually, you don't need fancy advice from friends, yaar. Just having someone who listens to you vent without judging or immediately trying to 'fix' your life is the biggest blessing. Just being there silently makes a huge difference.

Friends can provide a safe space, but they should also be observant. If you notice a friend struggling for more than a couple of weeks, gently encourage them to see a professional therapist. Practical support is great, but knowing when to seek clinical help is key.

When I was going through severe clinical depression, I felt so isolated and empty. A friend who just came over to sit with me in silence, without forcing me to talk or smile, saved my life. Knowing you are allowed to be sad around them is a powerful thing.

I always overthink everything and worry that I am bothering my friends with my anxiety. When a friend proactively sends a sweet text just checking in, it really calms my mind. That little reassurance that they are not tired of me is incredibly comforting.
