Breakfast is so stressful because morning cortisol already makes sugar high. I get so scared of eating oats or upma because they sometimes spike me out of nowhere. I usually play it safe with boiled eggs or a very light paneer bhurji, but I still worry every single day.
You can try a simple moong dal chilla with some fresh paneer stuffing. It is light on the stomach, healthy, and keeps your sugar levels quite stable.
Eggs, vegetable daliya, or besan chilla are excellent breakfast options. They keep you full without spiking your blood sugar.
In our family, we love our daily idli and dosa, but my doctor advised me to reduce rice-based breakfasts. Now we make oats idli or ragi ruti with lots of vegetables. It is very satisfying and keeps my doctor happy with my monthly sugar reports.
A warm bowl of vegetable daliya cooked with a little ghee and ginger is very soothing for the body. Pairing it with light pranayama in the morning helps digest the food better and keeps your energy levels calm and balanced throughout the day.
I completely understand how overwhelming it feels to decide what to eat first thing in the morning when you are diabetic. I used to stare at the kitchen counter feeling totally lost. Starting with something simple like a vegetable omelet or sprouted chana really helped ease my anxiety.
Does anyone else find that even whole wheat bread spikes their sugar in the morning? I am so confused about what to eat now. I started eating just cucumber and paneer, but I wonder if that is enough or if others also face this issue.
