What can cause high liver enzymes in humans?

My husband just got his blood test results back and the report says high liver enzymes. He doesn't drink much, so we're quite confused. What typically causes this to happen?

I had high liver enzymes last year due to a mild bout of jaundice that I didn't even notice initially. My doctor just put me on a simple diet with zero oil and lots of fluids. It's super common and usually resolves easily with some rest and care.

Bro, don't stress too much about it! Sometimes even a normal viral fever or taking paracetamol for a few days can temporarily bump up those liver numbers. Just drink plenty of water, eat simple home-cooked meals, and show it to a doc.

Straight talk: if you are drinking alcohol regularly or eating too much junk, your liver is going to protest. High enzymes are a warning sign to stop ruining your health. Go see a physician, get an ultrasound done, and fix your lifestyle before it becomes serious.

Beta, sometimes eating too much heavy, spicy food or bad water during monsoons upsets the liver. Drink boiled water and eat simple khichdi for a few days. Do show your test reports to the doctor in the town hospital.

Haan, fatty liver grade 1 or 2 is the most common reason for this nowadays, na. Almost everyone in my office has this issue because of sitting all day. Get an ultrasound done and eat clean, it will come down easily.

It is quite common to see elevated liver enzymes after a course of antibiotics or cholesterol-lowering drugs. Don't worry, the liver has excellent regenerative capacity. Just consult your doctor so they can review your current medications.

Please try not to worry. High liver enzymes are often just a temporary sign of inflammation and can be easily managed once the doctor finds the exact cause. Wishing you a speedy recovery.
