What can cause elevated liver enzymes in humans?

My recent health checkup showed my liver enzymes are a bit high. The doctor said we need to investigate, and I'm a bit worried. What common things can lead to this?

Too many late-night biryanis and weekend parties can definitely upset your liver! Fatty foods and regular alcohol are the biggest culprits for spiking those SGOT/SGPT levels. Time to cut down on the street food for a bit and give the poor liver a break.

Stagnant energy and heavy, processed foods can overload the liver, leading to high enzymes. I have seen gentle daily Kapalbhati and a clean, plant-based diet work wonders in cooling the system down. Do consult your doctor, but also focus on daily detoxifying movements.

My reports just came back with elevated SGPT and I am so scared. Did anyone else feel completely normal with no symptoms but still had high liver enzymes? I don't drink at all, so I don't understand why this happened.

With PCOS, insulin resistance often leads to a fatty liver, which can elevate these enzymes. I had this issue too, but please don't self-medicate or start heavy detox diets without a doctor's advice. Simple, sustainable lifestyle changes and proper medical guidance are what helped me.

If you are taking heavy protein supplements or pre-workout shakes, sometimes they can cause a spike in liver markers. I always advise people to stick to clean whole foods and stay well hydrated. Get a medical opinion before changing your fitness routine.

Haan, sometimes even taking regular painkiller tablets for headaches can stress the liver, na. People don't realize that self-medication is very bad for liver health. Best is to show the reports to a doctor and let them guide you.

My doctor told me my liver was living its own happy life while I was busy eating fried vadas. It turns out even moderate weight gain can trigger fatty liver changes. A few months of walking and eating boiled veggies brought my numbers back to normal.

As a health worker, I see this daily. Elevated enzymes usually mean some temporary inflammation, often caused by common medications, a recent viral infection, or fatty liver. Don't panic, just repeat the LFT after a few weeks as advised by your physician.
