What can a diabetic eat a lot of?

My diabetes diagnosis means I have to be careful with what I eat, but sometimes I feel very hungry. Are there certain foods a diabetic can eat quite a bit of without worrying too much?

Honestly, the only thing you can eat 'a lot' of without any stress is air and water! Just kidding, you can have plenty of cucumbers, clear vegetable soups, and green salads. But don't overdo even healthy things, moderation is always better when you are sleep-deprived and tired.

I have been researching this for my uncle lately. It seems non-starchy vegetables like broccoli, cucumber, cabbage, and leafy greens are things you can eat in good quantities without worrying about sugar spikes.

My father was just diagnosed with diabetes last week and we are quite confused. Are green salads with cucumber and tomato really safe to eat in large portions, or do we need to limit those as well?

Keep simple and cheap things like cucumber, tomatoes, and home-made buttermilk handy. Whenever you get hungry, just have a glass of plain buttermilk or some sliced cucumber. It is easy on the pocket and perfectly safe for diabetics.

As someone managing diabetes for ten years, I can tell you that eating 'a lot' of anything is not a good habit. However, you can have decent portions of leafy greens, cucumbers, and boiled salads. Always monitor your sugar levels after trying new foods to see how your body reacts.

You can safely fill up on high-fiber vegetables like bitter gourd, spinach, and cauliflower. Sprouted moong salad in moderate amounts is also excellent. Just make sure to avoid heavy dressings or oils on them.

In my personal experience, whenever I feel hungry between meals, I munch on raw cucumber slices or a bowl of roasted makhana. It keeps me full without affecting my daily blood glucose readings, but that is just what works for my body.

While green vegetables and salads are generally very safe and low in glycemic index, you should consult your doctor or a dietician. They will evaluate your kidney health and overall diabetic condition before suggesting what foods you can safely consume in larger volumes.

I completely understand how stressful and restrictive it feels when you are first diagnosed and feel like you can't eat anything. Don't worry, you can eat a good amount of green vegetables, mushrooms, and clear soups without any fear. It gets easier once you get used to the routine.

I manage both high blood pressure and borderline sugar. Eating plenty of green leafy vegetables and keeping salt to a minimum has really helped my health. Along with this, regular morning walks and routine health checkups are absolutely essential.

Cucumber, kheera, aur kaddu jaisi sabziyaan aap achhi quantity mein kha sakte ho, isse sugar nahi badhti. Par haan, potato aur sweet potato se thoda door hi rehna, na toh sugar control nahi hogi.

Boiled methi seeds or chewing a few curry leaves in the morning helps a lot with digestion and sugar. For meals, you can eat plenty of cabbage, ghiya, and tinda. These traditional vegetables are very light on the stomach and totally safe for sugar.
