What brand of diabetic supplies are covered by medicare?

My grandmother is a diabetic and on Medicare. We're trying to figure out which brands of diabetic supplies are covered so we don't have unexpected expenses. Can anyone tell me which brands Medicare typically covers?

Medicare in India doesn't exist like in the US. Here we have government schemes like PMJAY or state-specific ones. You need to check which hospitals and pharmacies are empaneled under your specific scheme and what brands they stock. Usually, they have a limited formulary.

Is 'Medicare' a general term for health insurance? Because if it's about Indian insurance, I've found it super confusing to understand what's covered. Do others also feel like insurance companies make it so hard to get clear answers on specific brands for diabetes?

Oh, this is a bit tricky in India. You'd have to look into specific insurance plans or government health schemes if you're thinking of coverage like Medicare. For brands, Accu-Chek and OneTouch are common for glucometers, but coverage depends entirely on your specific policy or scheme. Best to check with your insurance provider directly.

I totally get it, navigating medical costs can be a headache. In India, it's about your health insurance policy, if you have one. They usually have a list of approved medical equipment providers. Best to call your insurance company's customer service; they'll give you the most accurate info.

Beta, 'Medicare' as a system is not what we have here. If you have private health insurance, you must call them. For diabetes, keep checking your sugar regularly, no matter the brand. Aur haan, neem ka patta aur karela ka juice toh humesha se kehte hain, woh toh free hai.

Okay, so there's no 'Medicare' in India like the US system. For diabetic supplies, it depends on your specific private health insurance or any government scheme you might be under. I use an app to track my expenses, and I upload my bills for reimbursement, but the brand coverage varies. Check your policy documents or contact your provider for their preferred list of brands/vendors.
