What blood tests indicate fatty liver?

Someone in my family recently had a health check-up, and the doctor mentioned some blood work pointed towards fatty liver. I'm curious, what specific blood tests indicate fatty liver? I want to understand the reports better.

Hey, don't worry too much. It is usually indicated by high SGPT and SGOT levels in your Liver Function Test (LFT). Sometimes they also check your lipid profile. Just get the test done, and we can figure out the diet changes later, okay?

In my experience, fatty liver has become very common in today's times. A simple LFT is what doctors use to check if liver enzymes are high. Don't worry, with a regular walk and less oily food, these levels go back to normal soon.

Usually, doctors check the SGOT and SGPT levels in a liver panel to see if there is fatty liver. Try not to stress about the reports, everything can be managed with a simple healthy lifestyle.

We get to know about fatty liver through the LFT blood test when enzymes are raised. Along with the doctor's medicine, drinking bottle gourd (lauki) juice or warm water with lemon in the morning helps detoxify the system. Eat simple, home-cooked food.

Even if it is just a routine LFT showing high SGPT, please don't ignore it. It is always safer to consult a proper gastroenterologist. They might recommend an ultrasound scan of the abdomen to confirm the exact grade of fatty liver.

Ah, the joys of crossing forty! My LFT showed elevated SGPT, which was my body's polite way of saying 'stop eating chole bhature every Sunday'. It's just a basic liver function blood test, get it done to see where you stand.
