What are the warning signs of sleep apnea?

My husband snores very loudly and seems to stop breathing sometimes at night. My friend told me it sounds like sleep apnea. What are the common warning signs of sleep apnea that we should be watching out for?

I used to choke and wake up startled in the night, and my wife said my snoring was like a machine. Those are major sleep apnea signs, along with massive daytime sleepiness. Getting a CPAP machine changed my life, but first, you need to consult a pulmonologist for a sleep test.

Since I have thyroid issues, I used to feel incredibly tired during the day, but then my doctor suggested looking into sleep apnea too. Loud snoring, waking up gasping for air, and morning headaches are classic signs. Do get a proper sleep study done if you have these symptoms.

Look, if you are snoring loudly enough to wake up the whole house and still feeling exhausted all day, it is not just normal fatigue. Sleep apnea can strain your heart, so stop ignoring it. Go to a hospital and ask for a sleep specialist.

Keeping your weight in check through regular jogging and cardio can definitely improve airway pressure. But if you are experiencing severe daytime drowsiness, mood swings, and gasping sounds at night, it is sleep apnea. Talk to a doctor first, and once cleared, start a consistent exercise routine.

Daily practice of Pranayama and throat-strengthening exercises like Ujjayi breathing can support your respiratory path. However, warning signs like choking during the night or sudden waking with a racing heart need medical observation. Combine gentle breathing exercises with advice from a sleep doctor.

I ignored my heavy snoring and daytime fatigue for years, which eventually led to severe high blood pressure and heart strain. Sleep apnea is a serious medical condition. If you gasp for breath during sleep, please see a doctor immediately to avoid complications.

Losing weight and sleeping on your side can help reduce mild snoring. But if you actually stop breathing for a few seconds during sleep or wake up with a dry mouth and chest pain, these are serious sleep apnea signs. Please consult a doctor for a proper clinical evaluation.
