What are the types of diabetes?

My father was recently diagnosed with diabetes, and now my sister is getting tested too. I'm trying to understand more about it because everyone keeps mentioning different 'types' and I'm a bit confused. Can someone explain this simply?

Dekho yaar, main types toh Type 1 aur Type 2 hain, aur pregnancy ke time gestational diabetes bhi ho jata hai, haan. Type 2 toh humare yahan ghar-ghar ki kahani hai. Diet control aur thodi walk rakhoge toh manage ho jayega na, tension mat lo.

Yes, Type 1, Type 2, and gestational are the main ones. Getting your HbA1c blood test done twice a year is the best way to keep track.

It's Type 1 (where the body doesn't make insulin) and Type 2 (usually lifestyle-related), plus gestational. My dad has Type 2 and honestly, seeing him cut down on sweets and rice is tough, but it really works to keep sugar levels normal.

You have Type 1, Type 2, and Gestational diabetes. Type 2 is highly common and mostly driven by insulin resistance due to poor lifestyle. Get a fasting insulin and HbA1c test done, consult a good diabetologist, and fix your diet.

I was terrified when diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes, thought my life was over! But once I understood the difference between Type 1 and Type 2, and worked with a doctor, I realized it is very manageable. A few lifestyle changes and you'll be absolutely fine.

The key types are Type 1, Type 2, and gestational. If you are managing Type 2, using a Continuous Glucose Monitor (CGM) is a game-changer to track how different foods affect your blood glucose spikes in real-time.

The main categories are Type 1 autoimmune diabetes, Type 2 lifestyle-induced diabetes, and gestational diabetes during pregnancy. Since management plans differ vastly for each, relying on a qualified endocrinologist's advice rather than online charts is the safest path.

It is Type 1, Type 2, and gestational. Type 2 is basically our body saying, 'Please stop eating sweet boxes on Diwali!' Don't worry, it's just a sign to start loving salad a bit more.
