What are the stages of kidney?

My brother's blood tests showed some issues with his kidneys, and the doctor talked about 'kidney function stages'. I'm a bit confused. Can someone explain what are the stages of kidney disease or function?

Basically, kidney function is divided into 5 stages based on how well they filter waste, which we measure through the eGFR blood test. Stage 1 means perfectly normal kidneys but with some minor signs of damage, while Stage 5 is when they need serious help like dialysis. Its very easy to manage in the early stages with just the right diet and BP control, so dont get overwhelmed.

I was reading up on this recently out of curiosity and learned there are 5 stages in total. In the first three stages, most people dont even feel any physical symptoms, which is why doctors call it a silent issue. Its only in Stage 4 and 5 that actual problems like swelling or fatigue start showing up clearly.

Beta, the medical science divides kidney health into 5 clear stages, mostly tracking how well the toxins are being flushed out. Along with whatever treatment your doctor gives, make sure to drink clean water and limit extra salt and heavy spices in your meals. Traditional foods like bottle gourd juice can be good, but always ask your doctor first if you have any kidney issues.

I deal with chronic thyroid issues, and my doctor always makes me do kidney and liver tests every year just to be safe. Since there are 5 stages of kidney function, you really want to catch any changes in stage 1 or 2 itself. Please get a simple kidney function test done and show a proper nephrologist rather than guessing.

Just think of the 5 stages as a scorecard for your kidneys! Stage 1 is top-tier health and Stage 5 means they need a little extra medical backup. Regular checkups are the best way to stay in the green zone, so keep smiling and drink your water! 💧👍

Yes, true, the stages basically tell us how much the kidneys are filtering. Checking your serum creatinine level regularly is the best way to keep track of this.

Haan na, stages ka sunke tension ho jata hai, but they are just 5 stages of filtering capacity. Stage 1 and 2 are totally fine, bas lifestyle control karna padta hai. If you keep your blood pressure and diabetes under control, kidneys will remain happy, simple as that.
