Look, fever has three simple stages: first is the onset where you feel cold and shiver, second is the peak where you feel burning hot, and third is defervescence where you sweat and the temp drops. Just take paracetamol if it goes too high and don't overcomplicate it.
I know how scary it feels when your temperature starts rising and you start shivering uncontrollably. That first stage of shivering is just your body raising its temperature to fight the infection. Please don't worry, stay warm, and it will pass to the next stage soon.
When I am in the shivering stage, I can't even look at food. But once the fever peaks and starts breaking with sweat, I get super hungry for simple khichdi or warm tomato soup. Listen to your body and eat light during these stages.
Fever starts with chills, then stays high, and finally breaks with sweating. For a practical solution, when the temperature is high, do normal water sponging on the forehead and keep the patient hydrated with coconut water or electrolyte solution.
With children, you see the stages very clearly. First they get quiet and cold, then their skin feels burning hot, and finally they sweat a lot when the fever breaks. Keep a digital thermometer handy, note down the readings, and contact your pediatrician if it stays too high.

Fever is the body's natural fire purifying itself. During the shivering onset and the hot peak, rest completely and practice gentle, deep belly breathing to keep the mind calm. Once the sweating stage begins, drink plenty of warm water to restore balance.
I'm not a medical expert, but I know a fever has different phases from chilling to sweating. Because bodies are sensitive, it's always safest to monitor the temperature closely and consult a doctor if the high-temperature phase lasts more than two days.
