The main risk factors are being overweight, having a family history, and sitting too much at work. My practical solution is simple: swap your sweet tea with green tea, and walk for 30 minutes after dinner. Small habits can easily prevent or delay it.

Haan, if you have a family history, the risk is definitely high, na. Plus, our heavy Punjabi diet with butter and sweets doesn't help! If you are above 30, it is better to get your fasting sugar checked once a year.

Please don't worry too much. While things like age, high blood pressure, and genetics are risk factors, you can manage and lower your risks by taking gentle care of your health every day.

A diet high in refined flour, white rice, and sugary drinks is a major risk factor for insulin resistance. I highly recommend switching to whole grains like ragi, jowar, and eating plenty of fiber-rich green vegetables to keep your blood sugar stable.

I completely panicked when my HbA1c came back as prediabetic, thinking my life was over. But actually, once I started managing my stress and sleeping on time, my levels came back to normal. It's a very common lifestyle issue and totally reversible if caught early.

In my experience, my blood sugar shot up during a highly stressful phase of my career, even though I was eating fine. For me, stress and poor sleep were the major risk factors. Once I fixed my sleep cycle, my sugar levels improved significantly.

I ignored my borderline sugar levels for years, which eventually led to severe nerve pain in my feet. High cholesterol, obesity, and family history are serious risk factors. Please consult a doctor and take regular medications if lifestyle changes are not working.

Drinking warm methi dana water in the morning and eating jamun seed powder can help control mild insulin resistance. However, if your fasting sugar is consistently high, please don't rely only on home remedies and visit a proper doctor.

My teenage son started showing insulin resistance because of low physical activity and weight gain during lockdown. We cut down on soft drinks and packed snacks immediately, and enrolled him in swimming classes. Parent's supervision on kids' diet is crucial.

Yaar, our sedentary lifestyle is actually the biggest risk factor. Sitting in front of the laptop all day and ordering junk food makes it so much worse. Just a simple 40-minute walk every day can make a massive difference.
