What are the first signs of kidney stones in males?

My father had kidney stones many years ago, and I'm always a bit paranoid about getting them myself. Lately, I've had some strange back pain. What are the first signs of kidney stones that men typically experience?

This makes me so anxious! I always get paranoid about random pains. But for kidney stones in men, I've heard the pain is just excruciating, usually in the side or back, and can go down to the groin area. Also, blood in urine, painful urination, or feeling like you need to pee constantly can be signs. Please don't overthink like me, just go to a doctor if you feel these things.

Hey man, it's good you're asking. Kidney stones are no joke for anyone. For guys, typically, you'll feel very sharp, severe pain in your side or back, often just below the ribs, that can spread to your lower abdomen and groin. You might also notice blood in your urine, feel burning when you pee, or have nausea. If this happens, don't try to be a hero, just get to a doctor ASAP.

Managing high BP has taught me to be vigilant about health. For kidney stones, men often describe the pain as colicky, starting in the flank and moving to the groin. Blood in urine, a strong urge to urinate, and difficulty passing urine are also common. Staying hydrated is important for prevention, but if these symptoms appear, a doctor's visit is essential for proper diagnosis and treatment.

I had a severe kidney stone once and waited too long, which led to an infection. The pain was unbearable, radiating from my back to my groin. I also had trouble passing urine and felt feverish. Don't take chances. If you experience sudden, severe back/side pain, blood in urine, or pain during urination, please consult a urologist immediately to avoid complications.

As a diabetic, I have to be very careful about everything I eat and drink, and how it affects my kidneys. For kidney stones, a common sign is intense pain in the side or back, sometimes reaching the abdomen and groin. You might also notice blood in your urine or a burning sensation when you pee. It's crucial to consult a doctor, as early management is important, especially with conditions like diabetes.

Sorry if this is a silly question, but can kidney stone pain also cause nausea or vomiting? I've heard some people say that, but wasn't sure if it's a direct symptom or just because the pain is so bad. Trying to understand for a friend.
