What are the first signs of arthritis in toes?

My big toe has been feeling sore and swollen off and on for the past few months, and it's quite painful when I walk. My father had gout, but I'm wondering if it could be arthritis too. What are the initial signs of arthritis in the toes?

I made the mistake of ignoring nagging pain in my foot for months, thinking it was just tired feet. Turns out, it could've been arthritis getting worse. For toes, if you have persistent stiffness, pain when you walk, or swelling around the joints, get it checked out ASAP. Don't be like me and regret waiting.

For arthritis in toes, pay attention to persistent pain or stiffness, especially in the big toe, or if your toes feel swollen or tender. My grandmother used to tell us, 'Listen to your joints.' If it's difficult to bend your toes or you have discomfort while walking, better to see a specialist for proper diagnosis, it is always best.

Arthritis in toes can be quite inconvenient. Look for pain, stiffness that makes it hard to walk, or swelling in your toe joints. Sometimes, simple things like wearing comfortable shoes with good support can help manage discomfort, but it's important to get a doctor's opinion to know the actual problem.

Oh man, I just went through this! My big toe felt stiff and really painful when I first got out of bed, and sometimes it would ache even after a short walk. It wasn't swollen much, but the constant discomfort was new. Turned out to be early arthritis. Getting proper footwear and some exercises helped a lot, but a doctor's visit was essential.

With arthritis in toes, the first signs can often be persistent pain, stiffness (especially in the morning), or swelling in the joints, particularly the big toe. It might become difficult to wear certain shoes or walk comfortably. For anyone, especially those with existing health conditions, it's wise to consult a doctor for proper diagnosis and management.
