What are the 5 thyroid tests?

My sister was recently diagnosed with a thyroid issue, and the doctor asked for some specific tests. I'm wondering what are the 5 thyroid tests usually recommended to check its function? I want to be aware of it for my own health too.

It's completely normal to feel a bit overwhelmed when you start looking into specific medical tests. I've been there. For thyroid, the main ones are usually TSH, T3, T4. Sometimes free T3, free T4, and antibody tests are also done. Just focus on what your doctor recommends.

When I was getting my thyroid diagnosed, they first did TSH, then T3 and T4. Later, they also checked for thyroid antibodies (TPOAb and TgAb) to see if it was an autoimmune condition. So yeah, TSH, T3, T4, Free T3/T4, and antibodies are the common ones.

Thyroid health is super important for metabolism, so regular tests are key. My trainer always emphasizes getting TSH, T3, T4 checked. If those are off, sometimes docs recommend free T3/T4 or antibody tests. Along with tests, consistent exercise helps manage symptoms too!

Most health apps also prompt for these tests if you track thyroid. The core ones are TSH (Thyroid Stimulating Hormone), T3, and T4. Sometimes free T3/T4 are done to see active hormone levels. And if it's an autoimmune issue, they check thyroid antibodies like TPOAb. Stay informed and track your results!

Hey! Don't stress too much about memorizing all the tests, yaar. Your doc will tell you which ones you need! But typically, it's TSH, T3, T4, and sometimes Free T3/T4 or thyroid antibody tests. Just focus on getting those regular check-ups, okay?

My mom has thyroid problems, so I know a bit about this. They always check her TSH first. Then sometimes T3 and T4. I think there are also free T3 and T4 tests, and some antibody ones if needed. Just follow what the doc says!
