What are the 4 phases of cyclic vomiting syndrome?

My younger cousin has been having these really bad episodes of vomiting, and the doctor said it might be cyclic vomiting syndrome. We're trying to gather more information about it. Can you explain the different phases of this condition?

Cyclic vomiting sounds really tough to manage. I'd suggest keeping a detailed diary of when it happens, what you ate, and any stress factors. This data can really help a doctor figure out a pattern and practical ways to cope, like small, frequent meals during remission.

Haan, cyclic vomiting syndrome na, it's quite tough for the person. My neighbour's kid used to have it. They said proper rest and avoiding stress were big factors in managing it. And of course, doc ki advice toh pakka leni chahiye.

This sounds like it could involve a lot of doctor visits and tests, which can get expensive. Make sure you talk to your doctor about what tests are absolutely necessary and if there are any generic medications that can help manage symptoms to save on costs. Planning ahead helps a lot.

My daughter suffered from this for a while. It's heartbreaking to see. We focused on keeping her hydrated during episodes and finding her triggers during the calm phases. Small, bland meals worked best. A good paediatrician is a must.

Such conditions can be very draining, both physically and mentally. While medical intervention is key, I've found gentle pranayama and meditation helpful for calming the nervous system, especially during the inter-episodic phase. It can help reduce overall stress levels, maybe reduce triggers.

From what I understand, CVS has four phases: prodrome, emetic, recovery, and inter-episodic. Each phase has its own set of symptoms and management strategies. It's a complex condition.

My doctor explained that for cyclic vomiting syndrome, there's usually the prodromal phase where you start feeling unwell, then the emetic phase with severe vomiting, followed by a recovery phase. The time between episodes is called the inter-episodic phase. It's a pattern, not constant.

Any kind of recurrent severe vomiting is not normal, ji. Please, please get this properly checked by a specialist. Don't try to self-diagnose or just manage symptoms based on what you read online. Your health is too important.
