What are rheumatoid arthritis nodules made of?

My mother has rheumatoid arthritis and she has developed these small bumps on her joints. The doctor called them 'nodules.' I'm curious, what are these rheumatoid arthritis nodules actually made of?

Scientifically, these nodules are made of inflammatory tissue, collagen fibers, and cellular debris clustered under the skin. While eating an anti-inflammatory vegetarian diet rich in ginger and turmeric can help manage overall joint inflammation, it won't directly dissolve these physical nodules. Please consult your doctor for proper treatment.

They are actually firm lumps made of inflammatory cells and proteins that form near affected joints! They aren't usually painful unless they are in spots that get rubbed a lot. Sending you lots of positive vibes and strength to manage this!

My aunt had these on her knuckles and they are basically clusters of collagen and immune cells caused by chronic inflammation. They feel like hard lumps under the skin, almost like rubber ball structures. If they start hurting or restricting your movement, definitely let your rheumatologist know.

I had a prominent nodule on my elbow last year. My rheumatologist explained it's basically a collection of inflammatory cells and collagen, a byproduct of the body's overactive immune response. Once we adjusted my RA medication, the nodule slowly started shrinking over a few months.

Please don't ignore these lumps thinking they are just normal cysts or minor swelling. I ignored a small bump near my joint for months, and it turned out to be an RA nodule, meaning my joint inflammation was spreading. Please go get a proper rheumatology checkup immediately.

Finding those hard lumps on my hands made me feel so self-conscious and scared about my joints deteriorating. It's tough when your body changes like this, but understanding they are just inflammatory tissue helped me focus on managing the disease itself. Stay strong, this is hard but you can get through it.

These nodules are just clusters of inflammatory cells that form under the skin in some people with arthritis. Try not to worry too much. Keep speaking with your doctor, and they will help you manage them safely.
