What are normal liver enzyme numbers?

My father had a check-up, and they mentioned his liver enzyme numbers. I was wondering what are considered normal ranges for these, just to understand his report better.

Generally, SGPT and SGOT should both be under 40. My mom had slightly elevated levels last month due to some heavy fried food, but it came back down with a simpler diet. It's very common, so just eat light and check with your doctor.

My family suggested some herbs when my SGPT came out at 55, but I preferred consulting our family doctor. He explained that anything under 40-45 is normal. I suggest you trust your physician's advice on this rather than home remedies.

The reference range is usually 7-56 U/L for ALT and 8-45 U/L for AST. I track my yearly blood reports on my fitness app to monitor trends over time. If you see consistent upward trends, it's time to log a doctor visit.

Normal levels for ALT and AST are usually below 40 U/L. If they are slightly high, just cut down on oily street food and bakery items for a few weeks. Doing simple home cooking solves most of these issues.

Ideally, SGPT should be below 40, but my food-loving liver sometimes begs to differ! If you love biryanis like me, those numbers might tease you. Just do a quick checkup so you know how much you need to cut back.
