What are kidney stones made up of?

Someone in my family had kidney stones and it sounded very painful. I was wondering, what are these stones actually made up of? Is it calcium or something else?

My grandmother used to say eating too much tomato seeds causes them, but my doctor cleared the confusion. They are mostly made of calcium oxalate, and sometimes uric acid. Drinking lots of water is the best way to keep them away, but please consult a proper urologist if you have pain.

At my age, my body seems to be building a whole house inside with these stones! They are mostly made of calcium oxalate, and sometimes uric acid from all the good food we eat. Just drink your water like a fish if you want to avoid meeting a surgeon.

Beta, they are mostly made of calcium and salts that build up when there is less water in the body. In our times, we used to drink barley water and fresh coconut water to flush them out early. But if the pain is too much, do not sit at home, go straight to the hospital.

With my PCOS, I am always very careful about mineral imbalances and metabolic health. These stones are usually calcium deposits, but since our bodies are all so different, it is best not to guess. Talk to your doctor to see if your diet or any hormonal factor is playing a role.

Actually yaar, it is mostly calcium oxalate or sometimes uric acid if your lifestyle is a bit messy. I had a friend who got one and he was literally crying in the office. Best is to avoid too much soft drinks and just keep chugging water throughout the day.

Most common ones are calcium oxalate, which form when your urine has too many chemicals and too little fluid. You also get uric acid stones if you eat a lot of non-veg or don't drink enough water. Keeping yourself hydrated is the simplest, most practical defense we have.

I completely understand why you are asking, health stuff like this can make anyone super anxious. Mostly they are calcium oxalate stones, and sometimes struvite or uric acid from high-protein diets. Just knowing what they are made of helped calm my mind down, so don't worry too much.

Honestly, even I am so scared of getting these. I read somewhere they are like small salt crystals made of calcium or uric acid that get stuck inside. Did anyone else get sudden lower back pain and find out it was this? It sounds so painful.

My doctor explained that certain metabolic issues like thyroid or parathyroid problems can also affect calcium levels and lead to these stones. They are usually calcium oxalate or phosphate compounds. Please get your blood tests done and show a specialist to see why they are forming.

Please get a proper scan done instead of just researching this online. I ignored my mild back pain thinking it was just a muscle pull, and it turned out to be a calcium stone that had grown quite big. Catching it early through a doctor can save you from absolute agony later.

They are mostly just hardened calcium and salt crystals that forgot to wash out of your body! Keeping hydrated is your best friend here. Don't worry too much, just grab a big bottle of water and keep sipping.

According to the detailed consultation I had with my nephrologist, there are four main types. Most are calcium oxalate, but you can also get struvite stones from infections, uric acid stones, or cystine stones. The doctor told me that treatment depends entirely on analyzing which specific type of stone you have.

I have dealt with calcium phosphate stones twice, so I know the drill. Basically, they form when waste products in your blood crystalize instead of washing out. My solid advice is to cut down on extra salt, drink 3 liters of water daily, and get an ultrasound done to be sure.

It is so incredibly stressful when you are waiting for test results and reading about kidney stones. They are made of mineral and salt deposits like calcium oxalate, but knowing that doesn't make the fear go away. Take a deep breath, go to a doctor, and they will help you handle this step by step.

People on the internet will tell you all sorts of things about calcium or uric acid stones, but don't just blindly follow random advice. You need a proper lab analysis of the stone or a urine test to know exactly what is causing them in your case. Go see a qualified urologist first.
