What are fever sores?

I often get these small, painful blisters on or around my lips, especially when I'm stressed or have a fever. My mom calls them 'fever sores'. What exactly are they, and how can I prevent them?

Fever sores, also known as cold sores, are small fluid-filled blisters that usually pop up around the lips or mouth when you have a cold or fever.

Omg, these cold sores are so annoying, especially when you have a college presentation or have to meet friends. They usually start with a weird tingling or burning sensation on your lip before the actual blister appears. Just don't scratch or pop them, guys, it only makes them spread more!

Just when you recover from a bad viral fever, these annoying little blisters show up on your lips to remind you that life isn't perfect. They make eating spicy food an absolute nightmare for a week. I just apply some simple soothing cream and wait for them to pack their bags and leave.

These sores are caused by a very common viral strain that flares up when your immune system is weak due to a fever. Keep the area clean, avoid sharing cups or towels to prevent spreading it to others, and apply an over-the-counter antiviral gel if your doctor or pharmacist recommends it. They usually heal on their own in 7 to 10 days.

I woke up with this painful, red bump on the corner of my lip right after recovering from a high fever, and it is really bothering me. Does anyone else get these every single time they fall sick, or is it just me? I hope it goes away soon without leaving a permanent scar.
