From what we learned in biology, there are mainly three big types: Type 1 where the body stops making insulin, Type 2 which is super common and lifestyle-related, and gestational diabetes which happens during pregnancy. There are some rare types too, but these are the ones everyone talks about.

Just like managing my thyroid, understanding the types of diabetes is important. The main ones are Type 1, Type 2, and gestational diabetes, plus prediabetes which is a warning sign. Regular blood tests and consulting an endocrinologist are the best ways to keep track of your metabolic health.

Hi! The main types are Type 1, Type 2, and gestational diabetes! 🌸 There is also prediabetes, which is like a yellow light warning us to make healthy choices. Staying active and eating fresh food can make a huge difference in managing them! 🌟

I agree with the main classification of Type 1, Type 2, and gestational diabetes. Getting an HbA1c test is the standard way to check for them.

Don't trust random social media posts that claim to cure Type 1 or Type 2 diabetes with herbal drinks. Type 1 is autoimmune, Type 2 is metabolic, and gestational occurs in pregnancy. You must consult an endocrinologist to get the correct treatment plan for your specific condition.

Practically, the main types you'll encounter are Type 1 (autoimmune, needs insulin), Type 2 (insulin resistance, managed with meds and lifestyle), and gestational (during pregnancy). There's also monogenic diabetes and LADA, but they are quite rare. Always let a doctor confirm the type with proper blood work.

I am just starting to learn about this because my mother was diagnosed recently. I know about Type 1 and Type 2, but what is the difference between them in terms of daily insulin dependency, and does the treatment differ completely?
