What alcoholic drink is good for arthritis?

My knees have been aching quite a bit, especially when the weather changes. Someone at the club told me that some alcoholic drinks are good for arthritis. Is that true? Just wondering what kind of drink could help.

In our traditional wisdom, we focus on lifestyle and diet to manage joint pains rather than relying on modern spirits. Alcohol often increases dryness and inflammation in the body, which can worsen joint stiffness. Warm milk with a pinch of pure turmeric before bed is much safer and more soothing.

Honestly, alcohol usually triggers inflammation, so none of them are actually good for arthritis.

I have been experiencing a lot of knee stiffness lately and noticed it gets worse the morning after I have a glass of wine. Does anyone else feel increased joint pain after drinking? I am a bit worried if it is a common trigger.

Managing inflammation is key for both diabetes and joint issues, and alcohol generally causes inflammatory spikes. If you do choose to have a drink, avoid sugary mixers which cause insulin spikes and worsen joint pain. But ideally, keeping alcohol to a minimum is the safest bet.

At this age, my joints predict the weather better than the news! I used to think a warm brandy would help my back ache, but honestly, it just gave me a headache the next day along with the same old pain. Better to stick to warm water and physical therapy.

While there are occasional claims about red wine having anti-inflammatory properties, the alcohol content itself can interfere with arthritis medications. It is highly recommended to speak with your rheumatologist before consuming any alcohol, as drug interactions can be quite serious.

I can only speak from my own experience with joint stiffness over the last few years. I noticed that beer definitely makes my joints feel much more inflamed and sore the next day. I have mostly cut back on drinking and feel much better for it.

Please be very careful because drinking alcohol while on certain arthritis medications caused me severe stomach irritation and liver issues. It is a risky combination that is not worth it. Please see your doctor and ask them directly about safety.

Look, I know how frustrating joint pain can be, but alcohol is not the solution and might actually make the swelling worse. Try to stay well-hydrated, take your prescribed supplements, and don't look for quick fixes. Take care of your health first.

I totally get it, dealing with chronic joint pain can make you search for any kind of relief. But alcohol can dehydrate your joints and make the stiffness feel much worse later on. Sending you strength, and hope you find some gentle relief soon.
