What age does pcos start?

My older sister was diagnosed with PCOS in her early 20s. I'm 24 now and I've been having irregular periods. I'm wondering if I should get checked too. At what age does PCOS typically start?

PCOS usually starts right around puberty, but many girls don't realize it until their late teens or early 20s when college stress kicks in. I was diagnosed at 21 when my periods suddenly got super irregular. Getting an ultrasound done early helps a lot.

I am 28 and recently started getting bad cystic acne and rapid weight gain. Can PCOS actually start this late in your late 20s, or has anyone else experienced this? I'm quite anxious about getting tested.

Most commonly, PCOS starts during puberty but gets diagnosed between the ages of 18 and 30 when women look for solutions for irregular periods or fertility. Remember, it's a very manageable lifestyle condition. Don't worry, just focus on a consistent routine.

Mine started at 19, and the hardest part was managing those crazy sweet cravings! PCOS can develop anytime during your reproductive years. Just balance your diet and don't completely starve yourself of things you love.

It can start in young girls of 14 or 15 years as soon as their periods begin. While drinking spearmint tea and avoiding junk food helps regulate hormones naturally, please consult a gynecologist for a proper scan and advice.
