What age does eczema start?

My younger sister, who is 12, has started having really dry, itchy patches on her skin. My mom thinks it might be eczema. Is it common for eczema to start at this age, or does it usually begin earlier or later?

My son got it when he was just 6 months old. We went to a leading skin specialist who told us eczema very commonly starts in infancy but can also appear in adults. Ask your doctor clearly for the correct ointment instead of trying home remedies.

Honestly, eczema can pop up at any age, even when you're a fully grown adult! My sister got her first flare-up at 26 out of nowhere. Just keep your skin super hydrated and don't stress too much, it is totally manageable.

Most of the time it starts in childhood only, haan, but adult-onset eczema is also quite common. Mere dost ko 28 ki age mein hand eczema ho gaya out of the blue. Stress mat lo aur acche doctor ko dikha lo na.

Eczema often manifests in early childhood, but can start later when toxins build up in the body. I found that daily pranayama and avoiding harsh chemical soaps helped soothe my skin tremendously when my symptoms started in my 40s.

I got dry, itchy skin in my late 20s and thought it was eczema. But when I visited my doctor, she recommended a thyroid test and it turned out to be severe dry skin caused by hypothyroidism. Definitely get your basic blood work done to rule out other issues.
