What age does asthma start?

My little brother, who is 7, recently started having breathing problems and the doctor suspects asthma. I was surprised because I thought it usually starts when you're much older. At what age does asthma typically begin?

I totally get it, dealing with breathing worries is so scary. Asthma can actually start at any age—some kids get it when they are toddlers, while others develop it as adults. Please don't feel overwhelmed, with proper inhalers life goes on very normally.

I kept ignoring my dry cough and wheezing in my early 30s, thinking it was just pollution allergy, until I had a major attack. It can start at any age, even in adults. If you have any breathing difficulty, go get a spirometry test done immediately.

Asthma can manifest in early childhood or even in mature age, but keeping a peaceful mind helps manage the symptoms. Stay positive, practice gentle breathing, and follow your doctor's advice carefully. God bless you.

I was actually researching this yesterday because my little nephew got diagnosed at age 5. It seems childhood asthma is very common, but adult-onset asthma is also a real thing. It can literally start at any point in life depending on triggers.

It can start at any age, though it is highly common in early childhood. Just keep a rescue inhaler handy if a doctor has diagnosed it.

My daughter developed asthma when she was just 4 years old, and we were so worried. She is 30 now, lives a very active life, and her symptoms have actually reduced over the years. Whatever the age it starts, don't worry, modern treatments are very advanced now.

Please don't take any breathing issues lightly. My adult-onset asthma started at age 40 after a bad bout of flu, and because I delayed using doctor-prescribed inhalers, I ended up in the ICU. Go to a pulmonologist right away if you are wheezing.

Asthma doesn't care about age; it can hit a 5-year-old or a 50-year-old. Instead of guessing, book a quick consultation with a chest specialist. Getting a proper diagnostic test takes less than an hour and saves a lot of trouble.

I got diagnosed with dust-induced asthma last year at age 19. Honestly, I thought only kids got asthma, but my doc told me college students get it too because of hostel dust and pollution. It's actually pretty manageable.

Asthma can start at age 2 or age 72, it has no calendar! If your lungs decide to behave like a drama queen around dust, age is just a number. Get an inhaler and keep living life normally!
