What age do you get arthritis?

My knees have started paining quite a bit, especially when I climb stairs. My neighbour said it could be arthritis, but I thought that was for very old people. At what age does this condition usually show up?

Usually, your knees start making clicking sounds after 50 to announce that arthritis has arrived! But don't worry, it is a very common part of getting older and can be managed easily. Just think of it as your body's way of telling you to sit down and relax more.

Actually yaar, my mom got diagnosed at 48, which felt quite early to us. But the doctor said it is quite common nowadays because of lack of physical movement and vitamin D deficiency. Better to check your calcium levels regularly, honestly.

While osteoarthritis is common after 50, inflammatory types like rheumatoid arthritis can start in your 30s. Don't ignore persistent joint pain or morning stiffness. Go straight to a rheumatologist and get proper blood work and X-rays done.

I am only 25 and my finger joints have been hurting lately when it is cold. Is it possible to get arthritis at such a young age, or could it be something else? I am a bit scared to ask a doctor directly.

According to the specialist we saw, osteoarthritis is wear-and-tear related and typically starts after 50. However, autoimmune joint issues can affect people in their late 20s or 30s. He emphasized that maintaining a healthy weight and doing low-impact exercises are very helpful for joint longevity.

In our times, this was a problem of old age, mostly after 60. Massage with warm sesame oil can give great relief for mild joint stiffness. But remember, if the pain is severe or swelling is there, you must consult a proper doctor.
