What age do babies sleep through the night?

My baby is 6 months old now, and I'm still up multiple times a night for feedings. Everyone says 'just wait, they'll sleep through the night eventually'. What age do babies typically start sleeping for longer stretches without waking up?

My sister went through this and it was quite challenging. Usually, babies start sleeping longer stretches around 6 months, but every child is totally different. Don't compare yours with others because these developmental milestones vary a lot.

If the baby is quite old and still struggling to sleep even for a few hours, please don't just wait it out like I did with my kid's reflux issues. Get a proper pediatrician checkup done. Sometimes minor issues like colic or silent reflux keep them awake and it's best to fix it early.

Arey dear, most babies start sleeping about 6 to 8 hours straight around 6 to 9 months. But honestly, teething and growth spurts keep changing their schedule. Don't worry, just follow a simple bedtime routine and things will settle down gradually.

Once they start solid foods around 6 months, their stomachs stay full longer, which really helps with sleep. Just make sure the evening feed is light and easily digestible. No heavy grains right before bed as it can cause gas and disturb their sleep.

Honestly, the sleep deprivation during the first 8 months was so hard on my mental health, I used to sit and cry. It gets better around 10 months when they finally settle down. Please hang in there and take help from your family whenever you can.

Clinically, by 6 months, most babies are physically capable of going 6 to 8 hours without feeding. Just keep a consistent sleep routine and make sure the room is cool and dark. If they wake up crying constantly, check for diaper rash or teething pain.

Hey, don't stress too much about this! My little one didn't sleep properly till she was almost a year old, while my friend's baby slept from month four. It is totally random, so just go with the flow and sleep when the baby sleeps!

At our hospital, the doctor clearly told us that 12 hours of uninterrupted sleep is a myth for many infants under one year. They usually sleep for 5-6 hours straight after 6 months. Ask your pediatrician during the next vaccination visit to get realistic expectations.

I went through this with both my kids. The real stability comes only after 8 or 9 months. My best tip is to avoid picking them up at the very first whimper; give them two minutes to self-soothe and you will see they often drift back to sleep on their own.

Our pediatrician mentioned that from a developmental standpoint, 'sleeping through the night' actually means a 5 to 6-hour stretch. Most infants achieve this between 4 and 6 months of age. If they still wake up after that, it is usually just for comfort rather than actual hunger.

Generally, after 6 months you will start getting some decent sleep again. Just hang in there, it is a phase and it passes very quickly. Sending you lots of positive vibes and strength to get through these sleepless nights!

I think it is all about food! Once they start eating proper purees and mashed bananas around 6-7 months, they sleep like a log. When they are just on milk, they get hungry every 2 hours and wake up wanting a midnight snack, just like me!

I completely understand the anxiety and fatigue you are feeling right now, it is so exhausting. Most babies sleep in longer stretches by 6 months, but even after that, it can be unpredictable. You are doing a great job, so please be gentle on yourself.

Proper sleep patterns develop around 6 to 8 months as their biological clock settles. Be careful not to give sweet or heavy processed baby foods late in the evening to make them sleep, as it can spike their blood sugar and cause restlessness. Stick to natural, simple feeds.

Sleeping through the night? Some kids only discover that superpower when they become teenagers and refuse to wake up for school! For babies, don't expect miracles before 8-9 months. Keep the coffee ready until then.
