What age can you get kidney stones?

My colleague, who is quite young, recently suffered from kidney stones and it sounded very painful. I thought it was more of an older person's problem. Is there a certain age when people typically start getting kidney stones, or can it happen much earlier?

You can actually get kidney stones at almost any age, from young kids to elderly people! But it is most common between 20 to 50 years. Keep drinking lots of water to stay safe! 💧

I have had three kidney stones in my life, starting from my late 20s. While they can occur at any age, they are highly preventable. Cut down on extra table salt, limit spinach and tomatoes if you are prone to oxalates, and maintain a high fluid intake.

It is so scary when you feel that sharp back pain and start worrying about kidney issues. Stones can happen at any age, even to teenagers. Try to stay calm, drink water, and go get a quick ultrasound done to clear your doubts.

I got my first kidney stone at just 23, and it was so painful. I used to drink very little water and had a lot of processed food. So yes, it definitely happens to young people too, make sure you keep a water bottle with you always.
