Should you take a hot shower with a fever?

My daughter has a fever, and she's shivering. She's asking for a hot shower to feel better, but I'm unsure if that's a good idea. Should you take a hot shower with a fever, or is it better to stick to lukewarm?

I'm always confused about this. When I have a fever, I usually feel cold, so a hot shower sounds comforting. But then I hear it's not good. Is it better to take a lukewarm one instead? Or just a sponge bath?

Hot showers actually raise your body temp further, which you don't want with a fever. A lukewarm bath or sponge bath is better to gently cool down. No need for fancy expensive remedies, just practical steps to manage temperature. Also, try to save on water heating if you're not well!

Dear one, listen to your body with kindness. A very hot shower might be too much for your system when it's already working hard to heal. A gentle, lukewarm wash will cleanse and comfort without overwhelming. Be gentle with yourself and stay positive.

With a fever, especially for diabetics, maintaining stable body temperature is important. A hot shower can increase body temperature too much or cause dizziness, which is risky. A lukewarm sponge bath is a safer option to feel refreshed without impacting your health negatively. Always monitor your sugar levels closely when unwell.

I made the mistake once of taking a very hot shower when I had a high fever because I was shivering. Felt okay for a bit, then got even worse dizzy and felt like fainting. Please, learn from my mistake and don't do it. Lukewarm is the way to go, or better yet, just consult your doctor.

No, absolutely not. A hot shower will only increase your body temperature, which is counterproductive when you have a fever. You should opt for a lukewarm shower or a sponge bath to help bring the fever down and make you feel more comfortable.

Hot shower with fever? Na na, that's a bad idea yaar. Actually, it can make your fever go up even more. You need to cool down slowly. Lukewarm water is the best, ya fir just a light sponge bath. Don't risk it!

Hot shower? With a fever? My only goal is to find a position where I can actually *sleep* for more than 20 minutes without feeling like a burning furnace. Forget hot showers, just give me a cold compress and silence!

It's really tough when you feel so sick and just want to feel better. I've been there, wanting that comforting hot water. But it's actually not good, it can make you feel worse. Stick to lukewarm, it's hard but better for you.
