Should you cover up if you have a fever?

My wife has a fever, and she's feeling a bit cold. My mother told us to cover her with blankets, but I remember hearing that you shouldn't do that. So, should you cover up if you have a fever, or keep it light?

If you have chills with fever, a light blanket can be comforting. But don't overdo it and bundle up excessively, as it might raise your body temperature even more. Let your body breathe. For high or persistent fever, always see a doctor, don't just rely on home remedies alone.

With a fever, I swear my brain just wants to hibernate under a mountain of blankets, even though I know it's probably wrong. The body wants what it wants when it's miserable! But seriously, light layers are better. Too much heat and I just end up a sweaty, sleep-deprived mess.

Oh, this is something I've always overthought! You feel cold, so you cover up, then you get too hot. It's a never-ending cycle! I've read that light clothing is better to help the body cool down. Don't worry too much, just try to keep comfortable and hydrated, and obviously consult a doc if it's severe.

From my personal experience, when I have a fever, I start with a light sheet or thin blanket. If I feel too hot, I remove it. I never bundle up too much because it makes me feel suffocated. I can't give medical advice, but this is what works for my comfort.

It's a common dilemma with fever! My doctor, during my PCOS checkups, always stresses not to overheat the body when it's trying to fight off something. So, light clothing and blankets are usually better. Don't overconfidently try to 'sweat it out' by bundling up too much, as it might hinder the body's natural cooling.

Please be careful with fever. I once bundled up too much trying to 'sweat it out' and my fever actually spiked higher, which was quite dangerous. It's better to wear light clothing and allow your body to cool naturally. If the fever is high or persistent, always see a doctor immediately to avoid complications.
